You know what they say: new year, new me! And what better way to go about updating your current state than by diving into a good, old glow up, only this glow up has a modern twist to it. Let’s start 2024 by glowing up from the inside out!
Typically, the definition of a glow up is drastically changing your physical appearance. I, however, am not the biggest fan of this particular definition, because nobody should tell anyone to change anything. So let’s reintroduce the concept of glowing up and help everyone reach that inner glow. Here are 4 tips on glowing up from the inside out!
Stay hydrated
Drinking water is extremely important in general and it makes SUCH a difference. It has so many benefits for the body and especially the skin. Some of them being: water prevents acne, it helps tighten the skin, the skin also gets a more even tone and on top of that it flushes toxins from the body. There’s no better way to put it: drinking water makes the skin glow.
When it comes to water intake, it’s usually recommended to drink about 8 glasses of water a day. This however can change depending on how warm it is and whether you have been working out or not.
Eating healthy
Eating lots of nutritious foods is crucial when it comes to a glow up. You can improve the appearance of the hair and skin by eating healthier. There are lots of minerals and vitamins in food that we need to feel our best. Let’s eat our greens in 2024!
These are some examples of foods that are usually recommended: nuts, vegetables, fruits, and fish.
Exercise more
Exercising helps with feeling more energetic in general. However, it’s also proven to be beneficial for mental health. Regular exercising can help with a more glowy appearance, because of the blood flow the skin appears more firm. Other than that, it can also help tone muscles and even lose a bit of weight.
However, there is no reason to become a fanatic and go to the gym 7 times a week. We could very much go for a mental health walk and call it a day! Any form of movement is beneficial, albeit a cute little mental health walk.
Get sleep
Being well rested helps generate new cells and it’s essential for better-looking skin. A good night’s rest is also helpful when it comes to balancing hormones. No wonder, people that make it a point to sleep for at least 8 hours a day look more well rested and have more energy.
